LAST DAY!!!!

We start everyday out with a healthy regiment of UNO (crazy style)!!! Who knew a game as simple as UNO could bring our youth group closer than before. I know that it sounds silly but in my experience with this game it has made me get to know people more than ever before.  In the words of Justin Harris, "Playing the game of UNO with my fellow youth members is fun because i get to know them more and have fun competition...and i win!"

As we experienced our last day of work we said goodbye to the new friends we made and the work stopped. But the memories we experienced will never go away they will be in our hearts forever. Some of the friends we have made here will become life long friends of Christ. I can truly say that all of the Mission Serve Myrtle Beach 2012 attendees are my brothers and sisters in Christ.

This girl right here is a face painting genius she can make elephants, flowers, and space ships......hahaha.....just kidding but she is a pretty awesome sign holder. She brought it a ton of business for the face painting table. She is truly a Christian Follower.

We close our last day. It is sad to say goodbye to the friends we have made. But its exciting to see what our experiences here will lead us to do in our community at home. We have learned so many life lessons that will carry us farther in our walk with Christ. And that will inspire us to share his good word. We sang songs that will be stuck in our minds forever.  We have met people that will support us and see our journey through till the end. Well I am signing off now. Have a great night! God bless! -FBC Underground.

Day Four and Five

Good Afternoon people back at home!!! Sorry about not blogging yesterday we got all caught up in our fun day at the beach we forgot all about it. We started off our day yesterday going to Broadway at the Beach and then seeing an awesome movie....Batman...then finishing by going to the beach.

We also enjoyed some fellowship with each other and began to get closer as we grew in our faith. As a youth group our hearts have grown closer and our friendship have strengthened. Eric Sutton decided to relax in the sun while we swam the night away.

Today we worked hard once again to finish a task that seemed like it would never end. But tomorrow all work will be completed and all jobs finished. We have loved every minute of it. But am ready to come home.

Have a great night! We all miss and love you! See you in two days! God bless and Amen.

Day Four

Today was yet another a great day! We worked hard, sweated hard, and played hard. As a group we diligently worked until the job was done. One youth in particular was Justin Harris. He worked painting walls all day. Well i don't know if he painted the walls or himself more, he had paint all over himself.

Other groups were working...well...dancing a bit. While hammering a wall Alex Allen and Kristen English decided to bust a move and dance all over the place.

And finally another youth Abby Segrest helped with the craft of the day, the Badge of Courage. She says helping children is her passion.

Have a great night! God Bless! And remember do everything in the Lord's image! -FBC Underground

Day Three

Success! That's what was achieved today, well yesterday, sorry about the late post. The day went very successful. We all went to our crew sites, met up with our residents, and started working. For the mission crews, including: Brittani, Abby, Robert, Chelsea, Eric, and Elizabeth, we put on our day camp and then went to training for the task at hand. Training included learning how to make balloon animals and face-paint for the Boardwalk Ministries.
Eric Sutton made a sword and balloon hat, Brittani made a flower, and Elizabeth created a unique parrot. Robert decided to let Eric paint his face like Darth Maul out of Star Wars.

For the other set of work crews, there crews work included painting, roofing, and putting up walls. Jamie, Ty, and Katie were in charge of painting a house for a resident of South Carolina. Jamie described his work as, "My work was hard work but paid off in the end because we got a lot done." Ty must have been exhausted because he had to lay down and take a widdle nap.

To end our day we all went to worship and learned of the story of David. We learned how God took a little sheppard boy who played the harp and turned him into a man who would defeat a giant and be a tale to inspire all for eternity. In the following picture we see Dalton, Geoff, Jack, Justin, and Joseph getting ready for worship.

Well, that is how our first day of work went. We will report back tonight on how the second day went. Have a blessed day! -FBC Underground.

Day Two

Leaving day one behind and moving on to day two....as the real adventure began. But wait one minute...we must discuss for a moment the noises of the night. As Abby Segrest would put it, "A thumping nightmare was about in our room." This noise lasted the entire night! But then we finally went to sleep and woke up at the early hour of 6:00am to a delicious breakfast.

Then we all got together and broke into our mission groups to plan our days. For the mission track people, like Robert McKinley, we enjoyed our day by passing out flyers to the locals about the Summer Camp we will be putting on all week. We had fun meeting all the people and talking to them about our faith.

Finally, when we all returned to the middle school for dinner and worship we hurried to our mailboxes. We checked to see if any secret admirer or anonymous wrote us special letters. Two in particular, Katie Hamilton and Brittani McKinley, raced to find there notes reading "Good Job" or "I hope to see you later".

Well, this is a close to our day. We all love and miss you greatly! Let the light of Christ shine through you and let you live in the image of the Lord. -FBC Underground

Day One:

As we started our journey, we packed up the van and said a farewell to all of our loved ones. Then we were off! In the early morning hours, we snuggled and cuddled with our pillows and fellow youth members. A couple in particular...Alex Allen was curled up snug and tight enjoying his few minutes of peace...Chelsea Hughes was laid out in her seat taking a quiet nap.

We continued our, what seemed like an eternity, travel to Myrtle Beach. As the hour grew longer, we found ourselves stuck in traffic and quite bored. We decided to entertain ourselves by making signs reading "Honk 4 Jesus" and hanging them out the window to sell how many people would entertain our desperate attempts for excitement. Fifteen in fact paid attention and honked.

Once we finally arrived at our destination, we worshipped, ate a quick dinner, and met with our mission teams. We arrived in tact with all arms, legs, fingers, and toes. Have a great night and make sure to check back for more updates tomorrow! -Love, FBC Underground
